We are a husband and wife team, who often jokingly refer to ourselves as just common folks, navigating through this world. You might see us walking our dog, which is a bonus for general neighborhood watching. Our background is in the corporate world, where we worked very hard and traveled often. We understand the anxiety of leaving your home unattended and were fortunate to have had trusted neighbors that kept an eye on our things and plants.
So now we want to be that kind of neighbor for you, watching over your home discreetly while you are away.
Dan
has been working since he was nine, when a pizzeria in Chicago imprinted him with an impeccable work ethic.
He designed and built his own 4,000 sq ft house, loves modifying his vintage stereo equipment and is a car guy, which began when 14-year-old Dan fixed a '71 Oldsmobile in his parents driveway. What he doesn't know, he figures out. Always.
Christina
is the adventure instigator, probably because she grew up in East Berlin, Germany. After the Wall fell, she took the opportunity to go to Chicago as an AuPair and then made use of her language skills to work in international sales. Just as resourceful as Dan, but with a (German) sense of humor, her focus is on what happens in the kitchen and keeping things healthy for Dan and their rescue dog.

Your questions
Are you a contractor or have a home inspector license?
No, neither. Should there be any issue inside the home, we will contact you immediately and give you the option to choose your preferred contractor / service. Otherwise we will recommend a local service that can be available on short notice.
I'm a very cautious person, how can I be sure you do what you say?
We are the same - cautious and skeptical marked by life experiences. Why don't we meet first, so you get a feel for us. You can also talk to other neighbors, who have used our service. As your neighbors and business owners, we rely on keeping an impeccable reputation.
At what times are you checking on our home?
Anytime between 8am and 7pm at all days of the week per your preference.
What is your payment policy?
After agreeing on the requested tasks and obligations, we accept most Credit Cards, Venmo, Paypal, CashApp
If something happens inside or outside the home that requires repair, how will you handle this?
Let's say your ceiling light starts leaking water, which is what happened in our home. We will notify you immediately of the issue. With your approval, we will schedule a licensed contractor to evaluate the issue to provide a quote to you directly. If you decide to pursue their services, we will be onsite during the repair. The contractor will bill you. If for some reason you are unreachable, we will remedy the situation in such a way that was agreed with you beforehand; Temporarily shutting off water, power, gas etc. We won't do anything that you would not want us to do.
Who is going to check our house?
It will either be Dan or Christina. No one else.
